Data & Laser Programmer

This position is ideal for someone who has strong computer skills combined with a graphic mindset. Dealing with various print and direct mail clients, this position involves high level data work including address verification and correction, duplicate elimination, and pre-sorting for Canada Post.

In addition, all digital printing is done on site and set-up of both variable and static mail pieces is necessary.  We are dealing with multiple daily set-ups and short run jobs. This position is ideal for someone with specific experience working on Xerox equipment in a small to medium laser or digital print environment.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 1 – 2 years of experience in direct mail or a digital print environment is required
  • Previous experience with PrintShop Mail or Adobe Creative Suite is an asset
  • Troubleshooting experience and ability to problem solve on large copiers
  • Advanced English literacy and numeracy skills to follow work order instructions, set-up jobs and produce to count
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Experience performing quality checks on own work

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the operation of all large formal laser printers.
  • Responsible for setting up all output files
  • Read, understand and follow work orders
  • Review files thoroughly before setting up job
  • Ensure full quality control is performed on all finished products
  • Ability to run bindery equipment such as cutters and folders will be considered an asset
